I have a 2002 without Positive Traction (PT) and want to install it. If I locate a PT unit:
Will the PT unit fit in the same differential housing?
What year models will work?
Will the current axles work?
Can I keep the 3.23 gear ratio with PT?
Would appreciate any info available............THX

 

Ok... 1st off... IF you have a 2002 Z28/SS (since you're posting in the LS1 section), you SHOULD have a LSD (limited slip differential, the correct term for what you're talking about). RPO code G80 should be on the door jam... Check it.

Otherwise, you'd be better off buying a used rear from another 4th Gen car rather than trying to install a new one.

 

I only have the complete differential out of the '02 Camaro which I have modified and using it in another vehicle. Then I discovered it is not Limited Slip (M80) but a SU5. So now I need to know can I install the Limited Slip unit in this housing. I figured someone would know from the knowledge I see on this site.......THX

 

Ok explain your situation better then. Do you already have a unit? And what do you mean by the differential from a 2002 Camaro? Is it from a V6 car? ANd the RPO is G80, not M80. And it's not SU5, it's GU5. Are you dyslexic???

What car is it in? What did it come from? You make no freakin sense.

You are better off just buying an LSD from a V8 Camaro and saving yourself time and money
