Nah, I don't want it to look ghetto. Thanks though!

unless you are doing twisties in a parking lot, why would you want to take of the traction?

B/c I don't like driving with traction control on. It almost got me killed one time b/c the car hit a slick spot and I could not control the car b/c the traction control was fighting against me. I got to the button just in time to get the car back under control. I was not in my z28 though. But after that experience I just don't like T/C. I'd rather just not have it. SS's don't have it. And plus I'm afraid that if I leave it on all the time I'll forget to turn it off when I want to have a little fun Lol!

I turn mine off as a force of habit now too. The traction control in my old Z almost got me in serious trouble once. My work is on a highway, and during rush hour traffic you have to jump into a break when you can. The road was slightly rainy, and the damn t.c. kicked in just as I was out on the road and trying to accelerate away from the galloping herd. Nothing worse than jumping out in traffic and literally hitting the brakes.

Yeah what happened with me was I was in a turn and it was kinda drizzling(but it had been drizzling all day) and just as I was coming out of the turn the rear end got loose and kicked out. When the T/C kicked in it over-corrected the car and the rear end went the other way. I was headed towards the ditch but I got to the T/C off button and hit the gas with the wheel already cut over. I did a little skating but skating is alot better than being flipped over. B/c the angle and speed that I was sliding, if I had went into the ditch I would have been rolling!

As the saying goes, "if you make something idiot proof, someone will build a better idiot".
Sometimes I'd rather make the mistakes myself, it could be easier to correct. And I know to expect the unexpected if pushing the car hard.
The only time I would, and do use t.c., is in snow.
Now ABS brakes, I think that's a benefit....most of the time.

Yeah there isn't much snow here where I live. But I agree! Where are you located?

I have had 2 trucks with TC one was not so bad and the other was an absolute pain in my tail. My 2006 Avalanche LT had TC that I could turn off and on. This TC was over powering and was for total idiots driving. When I would get the truck in a slide (usually on purpose) the TC would kick in and it would over correct and sent me into the oncomming traffic. If I didnt counter steer the TC would keep me completely under control and just fine. Turn it off and I could drift all day no issues.
My 2004 Avy had TC as well but there was no shut off for it. That TC would not assist me unless I was really out of shape and then it worked with me instead of against me. I liked that system because I could drift the truck and it would not care but if I hit some ice or oil (which I hit both at one time or another) the truck would wait till its tail got too far around for counter steering and then apply the brakes to what ever wheel was needed to bring it back around. I liked that system. I have not had much time behind the wheel of my Wife's car to get a feel for the TC on her car but I know it will not let me do a doughnut in a parking lot when it is enguaged.

^^^^ what you all said, thats why the traction is off, it kicks in when it wants to and when you need the power!!!

best traction control i had was on my BMW 323i, it progressively can on and limited power etc so it wasn't like just hitting the brakes as camaro69 said

Nice! The TC in KIA(which I almost died in LOL) I don't know how it worked but when it kicked in during that slide it sounded like gears were grinding and it really kicked in hard!
