has anyone heard the new eldelbrock sdt muffler.they say its supposed to give you 10-15hp over the competition.i was looking to get flowmaster super40 series.i'm looking for a low,throaty sound.i dont want something that is loud from 0-100,like the old glass packs. i dont mind the noise when i get on it ,but at idle i want a low deep throaty sound,can you help me out

 

Magnaflow bro, great sounding muffler, or you can go with flowmaster, if you want something quiet stay away from the american thunder flowmaster series,

 

to be honest with you, i used to have a flowmaster 50 or 80 series, i forgot, it was one of those. it had a very deep throaty sound, and it made some noise only when you stepped on it. a 40 series isnt as loud as a glasspack, its actually pretty quiet compared to a glasspack, but it isnt rediculous. it made a nice idle sound, and comes into its own when you stomp on it. i do also agree with bigslick, magnaflows also make a deep throaty noise, quiet at low rpms, but makes some noise when you get it up there. those flowmasters and magnaflows give you some horsepower over stock mufflers, but they are not the best when it comes to performance. i would also look into the dynomax ultra flows. the oval case one has the same dimensions as the flowmasters that sit way in back, but have a straight through design which gives you great flow. they are decently quiet, but louder then the flowmaster jsut slighty.
