Stupid K&N
I got a 95 camaro with a K&N air intake and the filter keeps falling off. At this point I just want to get rid of it and put in something I can access from the top of the car rather than having to take apart the underside once a week to put the dumb filter back on. I dont want to spend alot of money. Any ideas??? Also how much could I sell the K&N for????
I had the same problem about 2 weeks ago. My K&N popped off while driving. I tried to put it back on when I got home, but I had to have it put up on a rack because it was impossible to do it myself. It took 3 guys to get it on. One up on a ladder holding the intake in place and two under the car pushing the filter back on. They couldn't believe how difficult it was to get back on. Save yourself the frustration, it has to be up on a rack in order to securely get it on.
Still need my last question answered. How much does anyone think my old K&N-57-3010-1 is worth?? Im thinking about posting on e-bay or craigslist but have no idea how much they run used. New they run about $240.
the kit should of came with a clamp that holds the filter on. i have used the K&N and the Moroso kits. and no problems with either. id say just go to autozone or something and buy one that fits the filter
i have used both k&n and moroso, did both by myself and not a problem with either. i used a 1/4 in drive rachet with a short extention to tighten the clamps. make sure u get it up on there all the way. it is a pita but worth it.

I have the moroso kit and I haven't had a problem yet. And I did it in the parking lot. took another guy to hold the intake for a second so i could put the fliter on but other than that it wasn't that difficult if you don't mind getting dirty on the ground.
