Are Pacesetter headers worth even buying? I know they are the cheapest headers out there but should anyone even spend the money on them? or spend a couple hundred extra and get a good name header?

its more than a 50 dollar diff isnt it?
I got a coated pacesetter and 3" midpipe shipped to my door for $500, thats about the cost of the dyna's themselves isnt it? I dont wanna go look it up lol.
on the ls1, the pacesetters fit very well. only thing I had to do was loosen 1 bolt on the drivers side motor mount to lift the motor about a half inch, but otherwise there was no notching or anything involved. Whole swap only took a few hours, and was 1 bazillion times easier than doing it on my old mustang.
pacesetters get specter's stamp of approval
EDIT: its usually best to keep the ypipe and header the same, or at least built to the same. I use a TSP ypipe, which is built to fit the pacesetters (well, its a 5 piece so it will fit about anything by twisting the parts around) and everything bolted up just fine.

On Summit Racing the Dynatech's are about $50 more than coated Pacesetter's for the LT1...that's just the headers for both. I'm sure you could get a Y-pipe to fit either of them. I can't find just the Dynatech headers for an LS1, all I can find is the whole Header/Y-pipe with cat combo.

Truth.
On lt1's it's a good idea to splurge a little bit and avoid the pacesetters, since a hammer is usually involved to get them to fit. But on the ls1's I've never heard of issues either. I'd actually say they're a good buy for the ls1.
