Default ok i have a cuple questions.

is it worth it to get a proformence exhost packege when i can just get the muffler. and that will be alot cheeper.

i also was wondering if i where to put a high flow cat would that be better then just takeing it out and haveing a strate pipe back to the muffler.

I'm definitely not an expert with exhaust systems but I put a Magnaflow Dual Cat Back system on my 3.8L and I have not seen any big improvement in performance. But I haven't really tested it out yet, just put it in. Might help a little.

The stock exhaust is not very good, the bends are not done as good as the should have been done.
SÃ¥ if you get a sports cat and a 3" cat back you get a much better flow, if you get a catback with a good flow...
That will give you more hp then you might think.

I had a chance to check it out today. It does appear to make a difference, red lined it in first quicker than I have in the past. It's a nice system, all the bends are mandrel bent and it all stainless steel with a lifetime guarantee. Not sure whose lifetime they mean though. Next step is likely to put some headers on. Any thoughts on that?

My guess is the cars life time

The only thing i can say is dont buy just painted, go for ceramic or chrome.

Yeah, probably is the car's lifetime. The Magnaflow is a quality system though, even all the hardware is stainless steel.

Thanks for the advice on headers. I'll stay away from painted.

dont expect big gains from exhaust and intake...

but yes, they are worth it

aftermarket systems will increase the exhaust diameter and use mandrel (smooth bends that keep the desired diameter) rather than stock bends which the diameter lessens....all are little things but why not do it right and not half-assed

okay two things basically no one component of the exaughst system will give you a particually huge horse power gain its the combo of all the differant pecies that make a really noticable gain addtionally if you throw on forced induction or other power adders and your car isnt breathing well you end up with a very expensive hog

secondly ricers just put on mufflers
