I have a 85 z28 automatic tranny 350engine.I just got itready for the road,I took her out ,and she chirps the tires when she hits second gear.She revs high and then bam 2nd gear,and by high i dont mean winding out or anything,just not as smooth as the other gears.What would cause that?
Also I was wondering what the oil pressure should be.it sits about 25-30 at idle Then goes to the 40s when driving.
and the last question.I was underneath the rear end fixing a loose shock,and I noticed a line coming from the shock,and another from the other one.They went to a T,and had a valve stem.
This didnt come with air shocks did it?,and if not ,why would someone install them? The shocks are hella stiff front and rear.Too stiff I feel everything ,and im worried its gonna rattle the front end apart.If anyone has suggestions on some reasonably priced struts and shocks let me know

oil pressure is fine normal when idle is 25 to 30 the when u get on it then i goes up to 40 so ur ok with that! umm as the trans goes try a new tourque converter if that does wrk then u know i have a valve body prob u might have a block up some where and also check the trans fluid but make sure the engine i warmed up first! those shock have been put on for raising and lowering the rear end u can get some cheap from summitracing.com

 

Thanks.I cahanged oil with mobil synthetic high mileage,filter ,and oil cap.Now the pressure is now over 50 psi.LOL I hope its not too high. I also changed tranny filter,and fluid ,and it solved the problems.WhoooooHooooooooo!!!Shes a bad *****!!

 

Does it stay at 50?! or just at startup when its cold?

 

its about 40 at idle ,then 50 or so when running.why is that too high?
