Default Muffler only? Will it make a difference in sound?

If I buy a muffler only with stock pipes and all will it make much of a sound difference? Also, will the pipes have to be welded on to the muffler or do they clamp? Would you recommend a muffler only? I'm mainly going for the sound only. Finally how much will a local muffler shop charge me to install if they do have to weld?

thanks guys

The muffler would make a difference in the sound, not so much in performance. They can be either clamped on or welded, but welding is the way I like to go. Shop will charge you around $80 just for installation.

Where are you from? Everyone charges a minimum of 1 hr.
