i think you shoud route your pipes "up" and stick em out the hood.
53 more hp... like the 53 you get from adding the k&n intake on your 2007 shelby mustang...........

Get a Y pipe that is mandrel bent and properly put toghether, the factory pipe is notorious for creating restrictions due to poor assembly.

Just go for Edelbrock's whole TES, shorty headers and mandrel bent Y pipe, that'll get you the most HP, but will cost you a bit more. The way I look at it, save for a bit longer and only get under the car and have to take all that appart once.

Tom,
When you have some time to kill on a Sunday morning, take a ride over the Bob Moses causeway to Captree State Park. Most Sunday morning there is a gathering of people with some very nice cars, talking shop, and showing off their machines.

Do not buy the Edelbrock short headers!!
Excuse me but they suck! The end where al the pipes come together are flat so they will fit together, not good.
Pay a few $ more for a real good header.

...that flat part is called a flange, it's so you can bolt it up to an aftermarket or stock Y pipe. Shorty headers aren't long enough to get a true collector on them, and if you want to keep all stock locations, you can't go with a long tube because they are too long and you have to get new cats if you want to stay emissions friendly.

My spelling is not what it should be!![8D]
But if one is gonna change headers why not get a good Y-pipe tha fits the headers!?
I got mid-length headers with a good y-pipe, high flow cat and one of the best flowing exhaust and muffler you can find. works awsome.
And if you wanna know i have build the exhaust my self and used a swedish Simons muffler.
I had a crapmaster before and after this i could feel the differens.
