Default Magnaflow

Hey everyone. Recently I just started hating the way the stock muffler on my 2000 V6 sounds. I'm thinking of getting a Magnaflow single in dual out muffler. Do all I have to do for install is chop off the old muffler and clamp the new one on? Is the inlet offset or is anything else I should know about? What would be a good place online to get this at?

I just changed my muffler and tail pipes. I went to CAP for the muff and pipes, cost me less than $130. I called the local exhaust shop( Lou's Custom Exhaust) he wanted just an easy $150 for the muffler. I laughed, then I called another shop. I was told I couldnt buy just a muffler, it needed to be professionally installed. I laughed and asked how about if I professionally install it. I called every local chain store and they had nothing. So I cut off my muffler and slipped the new one on and slipped in the tail pipes clamped them all together and done. Good luck finding just the muffler, Magnaflow is over priced but not over rated. Good luck.

So Magnaflow would be a good muffler choice then? I was also thinking Dynomax too. My dad has it on his C3, and it sounds nice at cruising speed and idle, and gets even better when you get on the gas.

This may sounds stupid, but what exactly is CAP, is it an online store, I would like to get something from where someone has gone before.

CAP is a local chain here in Ma,NH and in Maine. It stands for Consumer Auto Parts.. Its not one of these " oh we dont have that and cant get it, or does your Camaro have four wheel drive? even better is sorry I dont have a listing for brake pads on a 99 Camaro" They are great, They have a huge warehouse where if they dont have it at that store, the can get it that day..How can you beat that. All their employees are car guys, not school kids working for minimum wage. They didnt have any of the parts @ 11 am that day, I had them all in my hand by 3pm. I didnt even have to ask for clamps hangers or nuthin, the dude had everything ready.

dynomax is cheap price... but from what i hear, cheap quality too

and you'll probably get the most HP increase from borla or magnaflow

yeah... i bought it on ebay... for $325..... got it in the mail 3 days later.... and took it to Lentz Muffler Shop.... and they said they could do it for $100 bucks... and it'd take about an hour and a half.... so i told them no... how about $75... and he said he would... so i left it with him... and about an hour and 45 minutes later... he called.... and it was perfect...
