How would i gut my Cat. ????
You're such a post *****...
Anyway, 98Z28ImportSlayer, the jokes about the massive power from gutting the cat come from the thread "viper kill" in the street/strip section. Anyway, after you gut your cat, you should start it up to make sure you blow out all the honeycombe so it doesn't get caught up in the rest of your exhaust system.
If you don't have emissions at all in your area, why don't you just cut the cat out and get a striaght piece of pipe welded in? Just a thought...

sorry never saw that thread im new of course... im posting so i can find things out before hand that i dont know so i dont mess things up lol i thought about the straight pipe but i talked to the guy at this minaki muffler shop and he said he cant touch the car inless it has a cat. on it so he told me i should just gut it. I just gutted it today and ty for the advice.
So i was at a stoplight a 2000 viper rt 10 rolls up next to me uggghhh. He looks over and asks me if i want to run for money and i agree. We throw down 200 bucks and go back out. We line them up and i inch him slowly. He couldnt handle the gutted cat. After i told him i had the cat gutted he understood why he lost. Badass*********maro ugghhhhhh.
he relapses into this pattern of behavior every few months, then jd1969 threatens the ban stick and he behaves for another month. its kinda weird [&:]
importslayer, what state are u in? i have off-road exhaust on mine (so there isnt even a bulge for a cat) and when I tore my ypipe up on a bad bump i just brought it in and they fixed it for me. it was my understanding that they couldnt actually take the cat out. but if the car doesnt have a cat they can still work on it. ie, if u put the straight pipe in urself you can still get work done in shops. check with some other shops. some mechanics are somewhat.... um..... dimwitted well say. they dont even know the rules that they are supposed to follow. i mean, how long have cars had cats? is he saying that no shop in the area will work on classic cars? what if u trailered ur car in? cats are only required for street vehicles. if u wanted a muffler shop to do work to a trailer car they wouldnt turn u down. find a mechanic that has some sense

u could have linked it in 1 post. that way we kill 2 birds with 1 stone
1. u dont post *****
2. the INSIDE jokes stay where they belong, INSIDE the thread they started in.
weve run off a few guys around here because the gutted cat thing came up in too many threads. we really should start treating the tech sections as such, even with old questions
