Default Exhaust!

Mkay! I ordered/received my headers over the last couple weeks, and they are now in storage. I've decided what my plans are for the exhaust system, and I figured I'd throw them at ya for opinions.

I'm having a shop that worked on my brothers car do most of the work for me, but I am gonna ask if I can help with the header install portion.

After the headers, I'm going to have them mandrel bend two pipes from each header in towards the center of the car, and have true duals running along the drive shaft. I'm hoping that they can be tucked up a little bit, to help with clearance. From here, I'm going with chambered mufflers, which are essentially straight pipes, only they'll actually change and muffle the sound (Think GMMG, but even better.[8D]). They'll be dumped before the axle, obviously.

I'm expecting it to be loud, but more importantly I'm expecting it to have an extremely intoxicating, deep, deep rumble!

It's going to be ungodly loud. And the deep rumble you're after will be more like a LOUD rap. I also think you'll get sick of it pretty quickly too. The "droning" on your ears will give you a bad headache. And you might as well remove your stereo and sell it, because you won't be able to hear a sound from it!

My stereo's broken anyway. :P

Woah...we've got a real poll for ride of the month...nice.

Edit: And besides, the way I look at it I've got a fair amount of modding to do before it's even close to as loud as my brothers car (which I kinda use as a referance/comparison), which in all honesty is just on the threshold of being too loud for me. (He's got a Fox with aH/C/I 306, and true duals dumped before the rear axle. On the highway he's turning about 2000 rpms, and it only gets to be truly bad when he's passing a semi-truck, and the sound is bouncing off it back at us.)

Don't think I'm not taking you guys seriously though. I know it will be loud, I know it's gonna annoy my neighbors when I fire her up in the morning, and I know the cops outside of my "circle of influence" will be begging me to get on her a little bit, but hey....worse comes to worst I'll just throw some cats on it.

As always, thanks for the opinions and keep them coming!

My exhaust used to dump in front of the rearend. I finally ran a whole new exhaust...headers and full pipes all the way out the back. The noise was getting to me, and I only drive the 69 once in a while. Part of what makes it bad inside the car is the fact you need to have turn-down ends, and that blows the exhaust down on the ground. The noise just bounces back up and resonates through the car. And you want to point the ends down otherwise you'll be blowing hot exhaust straight back through the gas tank area, etc. Mine is still way loud, even with a full exhaust.

Oh really, with a 393 and plenty of work, I never would have guessed! hahaha.

P.S. I would really appreciate some pictures/videos/exhaust clips of the 69. We're talkin' my favorite year camaro, with more work than all these ls1 guys! If you've got those things, you'd become one of my favorite people. :P
