Default Chrome Exhaust Tips?

My '97 Z28 has dual exhaust tips that "bend downward" at the rear bumper. Is there an aftermarket chrome tip that I can attach to each pipe, that would ultimately appear to be "straight out" from a rear appearance perspective (i.e. if I simply put a chrome extension on the existing pipe, it would head downward)? Thanks.

Is your exhaust stock or aftermarket?

the whole pipe from the muffler angles down? or is it just the tip? either one, an exhaust shop should be able to fix you up for cheap. unless you know how to weld yourself.

The pipe is straight out of the muffler, then bends downward about 15 degrees at the very end. I was hoping to get a set of those chrome tips that have set screws so that I could install them myself.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!! Please don't do the Pep Boys/Walmart thing and get the set-screw tips. A) they'll still point down, and B) they'll look like garbage after a while and C) they will most likely fall off on their own at some point in time.

Go to any muffler shop, pick out two stainless steel tips (SS won't corrode like chrome plated bronze or zinc or whatever is underneath the cheapies) by Magnaflow or whoever and have the shop A) straigten your pipes and B) weld those puppies up. They'll charge you next to nothing for the actual welding so price mainly depends on brand and quality of the tip.

Thanks. Unfortunately I already ordered a pair of 9" straight chrome extensions with a "set screw" online but I intend to clamp the chromes on to the exhaust pipes after cutting them (the exhaust pipes) at the point where they stop being straight out and start bending down. This will leave my finished chrome tip just barely under the rear bumper fascia. Thanks to all of you for your well-thought comments.

If they're good enough quality, hopefully they'll last a while and look good, toss up some pics when you've got em on!
