does taking your cat off give you more horses or wat? cause im about to get a new exhaust soon

Removing the cat will give you a slight increase in HP, but nothing noticeable. Take into consideration that you won't be able to pass emissions tests without a cat if you have emissions administered in your area. Cats are not nearly as restrictive as they were when they first came out, if you get a good high-flow cat you're going to lose a couple HP max (Random Technology did a dyno test with one of their high-flow cats and lost 1 HP at the crank).

aw ok cause i live in chicago and they got this new law where cars 95 and older dont take emission tests so i was wonderin if no cat would make my car gain more horses

If you don't have to worry about emissions then you can take off your cat, and it will get you a slight increase in HP, but don't expect any miracles.

I'd leave the cat on it, if I were you. My LT1 is already tooraspy for my likingwithout having one on there(the 3.5" piping from the cutout to the mufflermakes it a little worse though). I can only imagine how bad a catless 3.4 would sound.
