CAT help
Removing the cat will give you a slight increase in HP, but nothing noticeable. Take into consideration that you won't be able to pass emissions tests without a cat if you have emissions administered in your area. Cats are not nearly as restrictive as they were when they first came out, if you get a good high-flow cat you're going to lose a couple HP max (Random Technology did a dyno test with one of their high-flow cats and lost 1 HP at the crank).
I'd leave the cat on it, if I were you. My LT1 is already tooraspy for my likingwithout having one on there(the 3.5" piping from the cutout to the mufflermakes it a little worse though). I can only imagine how bad a catless 3.4 would sound.
