Default cat?!?!!?

any advantage of a direct fit cat verus a universal cat besides ease of install i mean i see no reason why there would be but if there charging 3x as much for a direct fit one i figgure that extra 200 bucks inst worth a little less cusing and wrenching....

Usually the direct fit ones are including the y-pipe as well. If you plan on getting headers that include there own y-pipe, just get the universal one. If you don't plan on getting headers, or getting headers, that don't include a y-pipe, then the direct fit would be beneficial. Are you looking at the Magnaflow direct fit?
