Are 4 inch exhaust more for looks or is it more for stronger engines? Would anyone add a 4 inch exhaust tips to a modified (or stock) LS1 or LS2?

 

It really dosen't matter what tips you get. The tips might change the sound very little, but are really for show.They dont effect horsepower, nor are big tips needed for high horsepower engines. Now you might want a 4 in exhaust system for higher horsepower setups, but that includes all the pipe up to the y-pipe, not just the tips
