Default Windshield wiper transmission linkage

Help please!

I had a common problem with windshield wiper "park" issues and bought a replacement wiper motor online. The "park" issue is now handled but a new problem has developed .

Now the "old" linkage will not stay attached to the "new" wiper motor.
The linkage has plastice cups that are supposed to mount on a plastic ball contained on the wiper motor. When the wiper has even a minor amount of resistance...the cuppops off from the ball.

Is this a dry connection or does it need grease?

New wiper transmission linkage cost about $100.00 for the pair but the cups are not replaceable as a separate component.

The left (driver side)linkage is most prone to failing. Itattaches to the underside of the wiper motor and the cup pushes up to cover the plastic ball from below. Gravity is another factor as the wiper motor rotates...the cup falls off.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the plastic cups are worn out. Check with a good parts store, one that deals mainly with the repair trade, there are companies that make replacement parts that are not sold separately by the car dealer.
