Default widest tire on 1997 camaro.

I have a 97 z28 camaro with eagle wheels that look ok,but everyone keeps telling me they look small on the camaro especialy the rear wheels.I have to say i agree .The front and rear wheelsare actualy the same size. What size wheels should a camaro have and what is the biggest- widest wheel-tire i can fit on my camaro.

hmm.. i'm not really the one to answer your question bt i can throw in some input. I think you would be fine with up to 18's in the back, maybe even bigger depending on the tire. Personally I don't think I would put anything bigger than 18 on a Camaro, but thats just opinion.

As for width, I've seen, i think 315's on a friends SS, not sure of the rim size though (but i know they werent stock)
I looked at a TA one time that had stock rims, (chrome 17's) and I think they had 275's on the back..
But i think the width would all depend on the size of your rim and offset, but like I said there are people here that could answer your question way better than i could.

Edit: I think someone once told me they had 18's on the back of theirs and occasionally heard a little rubbing, but I have heard of bigger, so as long as your tires arent too big you should be ok..

I have 275's all the way around, but if you want to pay an arm and a leg for rear tires you can go up to a 315 without rubbing. I wouldn't go any bigger than 275 up front 'cause they'll probably start to rub. I agree with Bill about the wheels, I wouldn't go anymore than an 18, I have 17's and they look good.
