What is the widest tire that will fit a '70 Camaro.
I currently have 225/50 15" they measure about 7 1/2 inches wide.
I would like to run all around 275/40 17" they measure about 10 1/2 inches wide.
Am I just asking for trouble trying to run this set up?
What size are you guys running?

 

I have 15x8 inch rims on my 80 z/28 and i put P255/60R-15 BFG T/A and they fit nice I told the tire place that I wanted the widest tire you can put on those rims and this is what I got it gave the car a nice stance and made the car look nice look at my pics that i have and they show the tires. 80z/28

 

as long as you keep about 4 inches of back spacing on the rims you can go as wide as you want. the slicks on my rod measure 13.5 inches sidewall to sidewall . they are mounted on 10" wide wheels with 4 inch backspacing and they fit perfect under my stock fender wells. sick

 

I had a M/T 26x12.50x15 on a 15x10 prostar fir perfect

 

i have a 74 camaro with 15x8" cragers in the rear with 295/50s they rub on the driver side but only when i hit big speed bumps and i have no air in the air shocks......20psi in the shocks and there just fine...

 

I fit 275/50r15s on.

Stock everything.

 

I HAVE A 78 CAMARO.I HAVE 275/60-15 ON 15X8 CRAGAR 5 STAR RIMS ON THE REAR.ON THE FRONT I HAVE 235/60-15 ON 15X7 CRAGAR 5-STAR RIMS.I DONT HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH TIRES RUBBING OR ANYTHING FOR THAT MATTER.THE RIDE IS GOOD AND SETS PRETTY LOW.THE RIMS HAVE A 4" BACKSPACING.I ALSO HAVE ALL NEW SUSPENSION UNDER THE CAR LEAFSPRINGS,COILSPRINGS AND THE FRAMES HAVE BEEN CONNECTED
