where is the buzzer?

This is a 91 but the location should be close to the same area. Its in the same location on my mom's 84 S10.
This is inside the dash about where your right knee would be near the center console. If you stick your head inside as if you are pushing on the gas pedal with it while looking up you should be able to see it. Its the black square with the slots in a circle formation in the upper right corner. There should also be a relay near it.

have you gotten the chance to look for it? if not, im thinking of maybe running a seperate power wire for the lights, if i can find what wire they are run on

ah, i didnt see the page 2 part. thanks. i will have to take a look for it. do you know off hand how many wires are hooked into it? i would only like the buzzer to not sound when my dash lights are, but if that isnt possible, i will just unhook it. is it required for a circuit to continue in order for my lights to work, or will they work if i just cut the wire to the buzzer?

You can unplug the buzzer and the lights will still work. Or if you want to cut a wire then cut the brown one (I think) off the buzzer. That is the one that comes off the headlight switch.
