upgrading to 17 inch rims
Nothing, if you just go up +1. For example:If you go from 16'" wheels & 245/50 tires to17" wheels and 245/45/17 tires requires no change in the speedometer. The wheel & tire height did not change.
Just use a lower profile tire that matches the diameter of tire you have now.

To keep the same speedo ratio with a 17" wheel you need to run a 275/40/17, of course the aspect ratio varies depending on how wide the tire is, but if you're getting aftermarket wheels you should probably go with a 17X9.5.
