so long story short, i have a 69 camaro. the gas tank comes with a locking gascap. i lost the key. Like i said, im an idiot. anyone know how to remove the gas cap without damaging the gast tank neck. thanks.... please help. im almost out of gas... haha

 

try to slide 2 credit cards inside the cap to push in the tabs.Had to do it to a 68 cutlass so it may work on the camaro.

 

Let me see. You lost the gas cap key all right. Try to call someone who can open this cap without damage it. Take it easy it's gona happened with anyone....

 

well, you could call a locksmith. maybe a gm dealer would be able to find one. is it not the same key for the door?

 

hit the cap with a hammer and crack it in half

 

This wont help you right now, but in the future, you could do what I do and keep an extra key to it in the car somewhere.. Mine is in my ashtray..
