Default Setting Timing

Everytime I have my car running and switch the ignition off, the my car wants to keep running. I assume it's something to do with the timing. I don't exactly know what I need to do to set the timing. If someone could let me know the steps to do so that'd be great. Thanks!

Is the throttle closing all the way when you turn it off? Is the engine temp normal or is it running a little on the hot side. Carbon builds up and that along with a good hot plug will allow the engine to continue to run even though the key is turned to the off position.

It's running at a normal temp. I'll have to check on that throttle, it doesn't keep going if the cars not warmed up, but as soon as it gets warm it just keeps going.
