Default Rotor and Brake Pad issue

I just did new Rotor's and Pads last night on my 00Z28. When I put the calipers back on they barely fit over when full compressed. Now this morning after my drive to work the brakes were super hot and slightly smelly...is this normal and part of them rubbing in? Or did I potentially mess something up?

kinda.. just make sure theres no fluid leaks and make sure it dosent keep up for long.. is your reservoir pressurized from when you compressed the pistons?

sounds like the caliper was stuck and still may be sticking. should have been able to back the piston in there enough to clear the rotor. did you clean and lube the sleeve bushings.

That's kinda in the line of what I was thinking. When compressing the caliper, be sure you have the cap of the reservoir off, or you will be fighting against pressure.

So I took a look when I got home and noticed that only the rear drivers side was actually getting hot enough to smell. Upon closer examination I noticed that I accidentally put both "sqeakers" on the drivers side rotor Anyway switched on to the inside of the passenger side and now they are fine
