Reduced Engine Power light

Reduced Engine Power light
Hi, I hope someone can help me. I have a 2001 Camaro that has a problem that no one can seem to fix. Sometimes when you start the car, the Service Engine light and the Reduced Engine Power light come on. The car chokes down and won't accelerate above 2000 rpms. The throttle body has been replaced and the injectors have been cleaned. The diagnostic computer still gives a bad throttle body reading, although the new throttle body tests fine in another vehicle. The computer can be reset and the car then runs fine, but not for very long. Usually, just long enough for me to pick the car up from the mechanic and attempt to take it home. One attempt made it about fifty feet before the car died and the lights came back on. Does anyone have any suggestions? This problem is getting increasingly frustrating especially since my mechanic is now admitting that he has no idea what to try next.

RE: Reduced Engine Power light
I am assuming the trouble code is talking about the throttle position sensor, as the throttle body itself does not talk directly to the computer. If the TPS is good then the wiring between the TPS and the Engine Control Computer needs to be checked out. You need schematics to follow the circuit and most likely your mechanic might not have them. The car is fairly new and you can always go to a Chevy dealer and pay the price. They should have the tools to get you going and they can always get GM tech support to help. Last taught, there may be more than one trouble code stored and all of them should be investigated, oldest one first.
Good luck
