Default pleas help my rear diff




hey every one i have a 83 z28 the car runs 13.0s in the quater but i just broke the spider gears in thealburn cone style posi this is the second time but both units where old i can get a eaton gov lock right now in good shape but will this unit hold up fair to the power im makingat least on the street maybe the strip

No... The Gov-lock is the weakest Limited Slip for 3rd gen car. It is not a performance part but was designed for use in small trucks.

[&:] do NOT do NOT and i repeat DO NOT get a gov lock this a weak and usually grenading setup. they were used in most of GM's lineup including 3/4 ton trucks( yes the old good heavy duty 14 bolt rears) and they usually went the same way as the smaller versions, into pieces. spend your money wisely and get an auburn unit and although the car is only in the 13's if you are breaking parts with some regularity you may want to move up to a twelve bolt or stronger rear. ive had both ten and twelve bolt rears stand up to the abuse of big blocks with out breakage so you may want to look closer at what your doing or not doing to come to such destruction kurt
