Default Overheating Problem

I took my car in to the shop a while ago and when a guy was replacing the front blinker socket (because on this car it has to be underneath) he knocked a piece off the fan. I didn't know it was overheating untill it was too late and i'm pretty sure there was some head gasket damage. I took it back and he took out the thermostat and said he fixed the crack in the head gasket. The only thing is that now if I don't keep the heat on sometimes my car will start getting to the 3 quarter mark. My question is it 3/4 too hot and what I need to get done to fix this. It sucks driving in 80-90 degrees with the heat on.

I would take it back to the shop and make them fix it. Taking the thermostat out is an old school fix, its works on older car that don't have a computer, its temporary and just masks a real problem.

Well the mechanic I took it to is the guy I bought the car from and they screwed it up literally 2 weeks after I got the car and the guy "fixed" it for free and then when it still was overheating I asked for my money back and he said no and i'm basically screwed, he said the car was in "the same condition now as when I bought it" and "You agreed you wanted it I told you to be sure blah blah"...the guy is a ****...so i think my only option at this point is to get the things fixed myself.. Also, I'm gonna take the Camaro off the road for the winter because A) I deliver pizza and I'm getting 17mpg (according to fueleconomy.gov) and B) I hear Camaros are terrible in the snow....I found out the hard way they suck enough in the rain. So I think I'm gonna park it for the winter drive an accord save up some money and then get whatever I need done for it...but I have 153,000 miles so I might be better off selling it. I'm in a bind here because I love the car.

PS. Sorry for the wall of text
