orifice tube AC

Default orifice tube AC

just bought a can of ac refridgerant and put it in.did nothing.talked 2 some people and they all suggested an orifice tube...sure enough i bought one and took out my old one which 2 my suprising was covered in metal shavings so im thinking this has 2 be it.i replace the orifice tube and load her up with 2 more cans of ac refridgerant but now its still not cold like it should be??? im pretty much lost.any suggestions???

The shavings could have come fro the compressor, not good. Also you opened the system, so it needs to be evacuated with a proper pump and all the air and moisture removed, The amount of refrigerant to be added is going to be more than 2 cans, 3 1/2 to 4 lbs most likely. Take the car to an AC shops and let the expert handle it.

[X(] ditto z28pete youve got more problems than a can will fix. now that the system has been opened it will need repairs to fix the item which is donating the metal and then evacuated to remove the moisture. let those who have the tools and equipment do thier thing kurt
