oil pressure
my 95 z28 oil pressure drops low after my car warms up. when my camaro is started in the mornings the oil gauge is at 60psi. now i know the pressue is suppose to drop after the engine warms up. i am in atlanta it gets hot on a sunny day maybe 85+degrees and 40-50 degrees to be the lowest even at nite it around 40 degrees. my oil gauge is needle is above the second orange line its not on on neither orange line. it is above maybe couple of inches. it really does that if i am sitting in traffic. also when the car warms up it sputters a little. the car still runs storng. i was just wondering about the oil gauge.

RE: oil pressure
Change the oil and filter, using the recommended oil weight, then verify the oil pressure when the engine is hot with a test gauge.
Minimum pressure at operating temp ( 5 mile drive)
6 PSI a@ 1000 RPM
18 PSI @ 2000 RPM
24 PSI @ 4000 RPM
If your pressure is below minimum there is a serious problem. Could be worn out bearings, a bad oil pump, and very unlikely an internal oil leak. Either one can result in catastrophic engine damage, such as connecting rod flying out the side of the block.
