I kick myself for not keeping a journal of all the calls I have gotten. Some days it can be pretty frustrating to try and get the right info. Fixing cars is fun and for the most part easy, fixing customers is the hard part. But it is satisfying when you can take a new customer, give them a little guidance, then the next time they call things go very smooth and precise.

My favorite call is this one. first time customer, zero infor given after I answer the phone.

"My car needs brakes, how much will it cost?"

"If you'd like to stop down so we can inspect the car and get a little more info we'd be happy to help. I'll need a little more info to price it accordingly and have the chance to inspect the brakes to see what's wrong. Frankly, I don't even know what color the car is let alone the make and model so pricing over the phone could be unfair to you, and myself."

"Oh, it's red"
