Default no power..........

hey guys quick question here, got my 98 rs, its lacking some power but just in the take off. like ill power break it in the rain and i cant spin the rear tire. its like under the 1500 rpm range.now i did all the plugs+wires, fuel filter, pvc valve, and cleaned the throttle body. but that was like 3 months ago and this just started happening. 106,000 miles.

egr? fuel injectors? i dunno let me know what i should do. no there isnt any codes.

hmmm, almost 10 year old car, 106k miles and power braking to spin the tires and you dont know why there is a loss of power at low rpm's.
I am inclined to go with fuel delivery. did you change out the air filter and the oil? Could be operator head space and timing.

Traction control, maybe. Don't know if it was available in 98 RS, but that will keep the wheels from spinning.

Good call, I was thinking maybe timing related at the lower end, but aren't they computer controlled? Could all the high rpm runs on a stock motor knock something out after a while?

is 106k alot .... depends. How has it been maintained? Regular fluid changes, tune up's and all that. How has it been driven for the last 10k? If its been driven well then dogged for 10k it will run rough and 106k will seem like alot, if its been taken care of for all those miles then 106k wont seem like as much. Also the rings and internals get worn after time, so it all depends on how its been treated.

Yes, it all depends how it was treated and maintained. Many cars are still running good at 200K.

[X(] is the check engine light on?? does it light up at the bulb check when you first turn the key on?? you may want to get the computer scanned for codes or sensors out of range(should set code) things like tps and other sensors get old too. something like a partially plugged cat will reduce power along with old and slow O2 sensors. does it have better power immediatly after you start it up cold?? the computer takes over after a couple minutes of running let us know kurt
