If the car isn't going to be a regular driver, gas mileage shouldn't be too big of an issue. Big engines and good gas mileage don't usually go together so it's really hard to say. What kind of engine is already in there?

thats an easy one just get a stock 350 crate moter with no mods u will have stock v-8 power but with out stoping at the pump every 5 miles, if u go with lets a 305 u might get alright millage BUT the eng may have to work so hard to move the car cause ot the weight, give u thought this is an extrem veiw but i have a 04 yukon xl with a 5.3 its the fam car but i jump up and down when i get 15 mpg but on the other side i have a stock lt1 with a few bolt ons and i don't drive it like a fam car but i still get almost 19mpg so that an ideal to think about as well get a v-8 with enough power to move the weight of the car easy and don't use a lead foot and i can't c y u shouldn't get between 15 and 25 mpg... hope that helps...

[X(] part of this will depend on your budget. swapping in a newer fuel injected engine with trans (especially a 4l60e or 700r4 trans) to provide a good overdrive will generally produce mileage in the 20 range. for lower budget stuff a good running v8(if you can keep your foot out of it) can produce 15 mpg.... big blocks will of course throw that kind of mileage out the window so i guess its up to you to decide what kind of mileage you want, smog tests in your area, budget and skill level kurt

get a 383 stroker if you want power, and a simple stock 350 if all you wants a v8, itll get like 17 mpg if you keep your foot out of it

I was driving with a leaky fuel tank for about a week while the new one was being shipped!

I couldn't put more than 10 bucks in at a time!

Or park facing downhill!

That sucked.
