No 4th gen car had a true dual factory exhaust (dual cats into a single pipe).
All factory set ups had a muffler with dual outlets. So you will not gain anything with the Borla, SLP etc because they are single catback systems to the dual outlet muffler.

this is false.
while you are correct that there was no true dual. from wherever it started, the previous owner put on a 2.5" high flow ypipe, upgraded from the stock 2.25" exhaust. this ypipe had 2 cats, one on each side of the y BEFORE they came together. The catback itself IS NOT a single muffler with 2 outlets, it is a single muffler with 1 outlet on the drivers side, the passenger side runs straight out from the Y and is not muffled. Coupled with the upgraded ypipe, you will see gains, altho they will see small.

slp is also not a dual outlet muffler. the loudmouth is essentially straight pipes with a resonator. it is still a 2:1:2 exhaust just like mine and just like stock, but the routing is very much different.

if you do that you need one that is the same general shape as stock.
a 1 in 2 out non-directional would be easiest (like dynomax, since they dont use baffles), any length issues can be corrected with extra pipe
