If that was after topping up the oil, then you want to look into it before driving the car more. It may just be a bad oil pressure switch, ours went bad (not that that means anything for yours). It's in the back, and kinda hard to get to. Skinny arms and moving aside that wiring harness that runs down between the power steering reservoir and engine will help. Pull the plug and see if it's coated with oil. If it is, it's bad, but it still could be bad if it isn't gooped up.
And yeah, it looks like you have an accumulation of oil buildup from a slow leak, likely from the valve cover gasket.

The next fish would be to check the oil pressure switch. I've had more than one go bad on me in the past, and it gave a false (usually low) reading on the gauge. Normally it would start out ok, then slowly drop pressure as the engine heated up. Unfortunately, you don't have the luxury of watching that progress with an idiot light. But if a new switch were to take care of it, I wouldn't be surprised. Your engine doesn't have the kind of miles that should give you such low oil pressure. The key word is "should".

Yes, that would still be a possibility. Look on the back side of the block for the switch. With the firewall in the way, it was "fun" to get to and replace. Move the wire loom outta the way like I described earlier. And a mirror may help to see where you're aiming to go.

If your oil is not low and your low pressure light is coming on then you should verify the oil pressure with a manual gage. You could have a sending unit issue or even a problem with the gage cluster or you could just have low oil pressure. These types of failures are very rare in a 2.2 but anything made by man can fail.
I would not worry about the valve cover yet (it is easy). If it was a sludge issue it would work the opposite as you are saying. It would be fine at idle and come on at higher RPMS. The only reason I mentioned it before was the Low oil combined with on a hill I thought it could be a cause. Is there any new noises? A faint taping or a rough idle that was not there before?

Thats good, most of the time when someone shows up with a "low pressure" issue with no other syptoms it ends up just being a gage issue.

If I were a betting man, based on my past experiences with this same type of issue, I'd put my money on it being the oil pressure switch. I've had this happen on 3 of my cars in the past.
