Default Need advice on changing an engine

hi, i have bin going back and forth with my camaro for almost two months already trying to find an engine for under 1grand. the crankshaft in my old engine went bad and i didnt want to replace it so i was just going to drop another engine in. but since its been such a pain trying to find a engine on my budget i was thinking to just go ahead and replace the crankshaft. i have never replaced a crankshaft and would like to know if its even worth replacing or should i just keep looking for an engine... thanks

have we heard of pandoras box?? or perhaps bucket o worms well this might be it. i dont really like to remove engines unless were doing the whole enchilada as your labor is the same and if the bottom is wore out how far behind can the top be?? do you want to do things twice in a short time span?? i know money is tight now adays but i think your way ahead money wise and labor wise to do it all ,if at all possible. if you cant seem to find a good runner maybe find one that needs rebuilding and do a little each month on it for a couple months and in the end its less frustrating and expensive the only exception i find acceptable is if you know you have a tight, low hour heads and cylinders and even then its a push kurt
