ok i have a 97 z28 camaro and when im driving it if i hold the gas pedal steady it makes a wierd noise like the rear end is howing but when you give it more gas or lets off it stops i dont have a clue of what it is iy does have after market 3.73 gears it might nit be rear end just sounds like it

 

It's difficult to diagnose without hearing it. If it changes pitch with vehicle speed or throttle manipulation, then I would lean towards a gear clearance issue, either caused by improper setup or worn bearings. Also, there are two types of gear profiles. One is more prone to noise that the other, making proper set up more critical. I've run into this in 8.8 ford mustangs, they are the worst for noisy 3.73's.

 

Wouldn't warn axle bearings make more noise w/more speed? Just trouble shooting..

 

any rear end noise would change pitch/tone with more speed
