Default iroc overheating problem any suggestion might help don't be afraid to comment

1986 iroc is overheating and it has all new cooling components

maybe the fans arent running. does it heat up while moving or sitting still? the air dam will make them overheat if someone has trimmed it or if it is messed up. advance auto sells a lot of junk thermostats.

do u have the air damn on. if missing it will cause overheating on certain yr cars.

its a newly rebuilt motor so i dont think it would be head gasket it overheats when it is setting still so it couldnt be the air dam and the fan turns on at the right temp i think

yes one guy built one out of stainless. worked at a fabricating shop and got the ok from his boss to do it at off time. cured the problem. wanted to see what yr it was so i looked for the post and cant find it. i keep thinking it was a 87 but not sure.

i stole the air dam off of an 87 (mine is and 86) and they don't match
