installing new battery

Default installing new battery

i have a new car battery but have never installed one before, any help would be appreciated, also what do i need to do to maintain it properly ?

Um definately need an 8 mm wrench to get the two bolts off of the cables. Then you need to losen the bolt at the bottom of the battery to be able to take it out. I BELIEVE it is a 12 mm i'm not 100% sure but that needs to come out a little bit, so install in reverse order. Sometimes you need to take that bolt out all the way.

well the only problem i had is trying to take the bolt off that hold the battery in, i tried moving the power steering resevoir but that still didnt give me a lot of room, im going to see if i can find a longer extension

Also go spend the extra $3 spray some anti-corrosion stuff on the terminals. Yeah you should be able to get it with just a long extention.

i got a 10" extension and it was no problem there, i had to clean the positive terminal because it wouldnt hold any power on the new battery, but everything is good to go

Should of bought the battery at Auto parts store that installs them. Less problems with the tie downs. Just stand there and watch. My opinion.
