Default I NEED IMMEDIATE HELP!!!!

1986 305 tpi. it was running fine until i tried to hook up a throttle body bypass. i ran it once without the tps and maf sensors plugged in (and that sensor under the throttle body), and thats when the problems started. when i hooked them all up again, it became evil. it is running incredibly rich. i have to use full throttle for it to start, and it wont idle for about a minute unless i give it gas. its rough and is spewing a lot of black smoke out, and i can smell a lot of unburnt fuel. i hooked the coolant line back up to the throttle body, double checked the connections on the 3 sensors, and its still running like crap. i tried disconnecting the battery for half an hour to see if it was a computer issue from it being run without the sensors, but that didnt work. does anyone know what it wrong?

i talked to my mechanic, and he said it sounds like the fuel pressure regulator is broken and stuck open, and is delivering too much fuel. sounds right to me? anyone else know about this?

Do you have a check engine light? Do you still have the bypass installed? Have you tried running it without the bypass? Sounds like the computer got messed up and needs to be reset, not just unplugged, I could be wrong though.
