Default How much will it cost?

Hey, I'm not sure if this is in the right thread or not.

But does anyone know how much it'll cost to dyno my engine in my '81 Camaro Z28? I just want to see how much horsepower and torque it has in it, because it's not a stock engine.
Any inputs would be appreciated.

Sometimes you can get a good deal at a large car show or swap meet. They will setup a portable dyno and just run test after test. I would expect that to be 50-100. You could call around to some of the tuning shops if they are slow they might get you in but as a general rule that want to use the dyno and their people for tuning. That is where the money is.

If your not to worried about it being super accurate you could just borrow a Iphone and use it as a pocket dyno. They do kind of work. I would guess +/- 10% as long as you have good info on the weight of the car.

Hmm alright. I was also thinking the same thing about a swap meet, but then again I'd have to wait around for one. Yall don't think it'd cost over a 150-200 just to see how much horsepower and torque at a tuning shop right..? And the Iphone thing, thanks. My parents have Iphones, I'll look into that.

Check the Dynojet web site and type in your zip code for the nearest location. The cost may vary, however I paid $75 for three pulls when I used them a few years ago.
