Cost to have 350 cleaned up?
Can anyone tell me about what the average cost would be to have an old 350 cleaned up? The one I bout is completely stripped down except for the main caps. And it's got a crack in one cylinder and minor surface rust all around. I want the block to be 100% rust free with new bearings and main caps new freze plugs and have the cylinder replaced and all of them bored .030 over.

Not sure you want the expense of fixing up a very used up block. First to have it hot tanked and cleaned is not that expensive. BUT you said their is a cracked cylinder????? you will need to have it sleved and the block will also be bored to true up all the cylinders and then it will need to be decked. Cam bearing installed and galley plugs and freeze plugs. Then you will need everything that goes into assembleing the short block. You might want to look at a GM crate short block or a complete motor with a warrant for piece of mind and a smaller hit on your pocket book. I always nave a feeling that when a block crackes their is a reason. If it were me it would be in the scrap pile. IF it was a numbers matching special DZ block or something along that line then it might be worth it.
