Default high oil pressure

normally in the mornings it is fairly warm, but the last week we hit a cold front, it has been around 30-35 degrees and i have noticed a higher oil pressure while driving, does the colder weather cause the oil pressure to be higher ?

How high is it getting? Also, does it return to normal when the engine warms up.

well id say sometimes its 10-15 psi higher than it normally is, maybe the pressure sender could be off, but it does return to normal after about 20-30 min of driving

The oil is cold and a little heavier. What weight do you use? Does it turn over a little slower also?

i use 10w-30, it takes like an extra second to turn over i guess, its not that hard to start or anything

Pretty well normal for the weight oil you are using. Pressure should drop as the engine gets warm, but if the weather is verycold it keeps the oil pan cold enough so that the oil never gets to normal temp, especially if you are using a cold stat.

one reason the oil pressure changed is because i switched from k&n to fram oil filter, should i use 5w30 instead of 10w30 ?

i heard that fram is the worst filter and k&n, mobil 1 is the best for flow. also put in what oil weight the car calls for you cant go wrong then.
