The fans should be kicking in a around 220. The coolant temp sensor is probably bad, put in a new one & see what happens.

 

I agree with Pete.I would make sure that temp sensor is good.Is the cooling system gurgling or blowing coolant out?alot of things can cause overheating isuses and it is best to start with the simple stuff.

 

i havent had any coolant overflowed yet, but i noticed the level was down some. where is the temp probe located at?

 

it's located in the front left corner of the manifold

 

left as in passenger side? a picture will probably help me more.

also, i flushed the system and added coolant. i put in about 2 gallon of straight antifreeze, and then it acted full. i dont know if there is an air bubble or not, as it looks pretty much as green as when i put it in (would be lighter if there was still water in it). im thinking that there was probably still water in it. how else can i get out a water bubble other than paitence? also, the fan did kick on around 250* and turned off at 220*

 

i still havent found it, and it doesnt show where it is in my manuals. there is something under the throttle body, on the passenger side, below the throttle position sensor. it was loose and i took it out, and there was a little spring lookin thing on the end. after i took it out, the engine wouldnt run and made a loud hissing when i was cranking it over.

 

can i get any help?

 

my plastics should be here sometime next week. i still havent found the temperature sender. can anyone help me with that? i have found that there is replaced wiring for the fan, and there is a relay next to the battery that goes to it. im afraid that if i just run a switch to turn the fan on myself, that it might mess something else up.

 

how about some recomendations on an aluminum radiator? anyone know of a direct drop in?

 

Go to a radiator shop, or a parts store. Stock, direct fit, aluminum radiators run $150-$200.
