Default Help with transmission issue

I am not sure how to describe this. I have a 91 RS with a stock 305 and the 700R4 automatic transmission. When I accelerate at normal rate, not romping on it, car starts out fine, but when it shifts into second gear it kind of feels like the clutch is being engaged for a second. The car seems to "pause" while the transmission kicks in, and the engine revs up pretty high, then it seems to engage and I can move along again just fine. It seems to do this only in 2nd gear. What could be causing this?

You cluchs are slipping. Cause can below line pressure or worn clutchs. First check you fluid level. You might want to service your tranny. New filter and fluided.Take a good look at the pan while you have it off. You want to note how much black stuff is in it. That black stuff is your clutchs.

Start researching tranny shops in your area. If you can find a good honest garage you might want them to do the tranny service so they can see whats in there. Most likely an over haulwill berequired.
