Question Help! Slave clyinder? clutch?

I have a 2002 Camaro Z28. Earlier today, when I left my house I forgot that it was in gear, let the clutch out and it jumped. I hurried and pressed clutch in.. Started driving down the road the clutch started to frequently dis-engage itself. Got about half mile from my house, and now it WONT go into gear if the car is running. Any ideas? we checked to see if cable was broken, its not its still hooked up. Buddy of mine said it could be the slave cylinder and might have to replace all that. Any ideas? any help would be great. Thanks. I've checked the fluid and its full also.

It could also be that the internal seal of the master cylinder is bad. Can't build pressure = can't move the slave.

+1 was going to say it sounds like a master cylinder to me. Master cylinder is what is engaged by the pedal itself, builds pressure and moves the slave cylinder in order to move your clutch fork. If that pressure goes, it's the same as if you let your foot off the pedal. Same with a brake master, it's possible to have the seal fail in such a way that they have to be pumped up to make pressure, and then fluid gets past it and it's gone again.

Check for any fluid leaks, they'll be obvious if it's a hydraulic leak since that stuff is messy. If no leaks, I would suspect a failed internal seal.
