Default help, I think I over reved my engine...

I have a 1985 camaro, v6, 2.8. Today I was driving around and I decided to see what it could really do on a highway on-ramp and slammed the gass... when I was driving back home, I kept hearing a sound (like a rattleing of something loose) when I was at low RPM. Its not the push rods I know that, any ideas on where I can start to look for the problem?

Ticking or knocking would be the common side effects of an over revved motor.

see if you can get a recording. also along with checking everything, make sure the belts are good. i thought my power steering pump was going bad because there was a nasty tick from it. well, it was actually the a/c belt fraying and when it broke, the noise stopped

The noise has stopped just as fast as it started... I still dont quite know what it was from but it isn't doing it anymore so the problem must have been with the exhaust vibrating when the engine was at low rpm. But how I was able to make the exhaust rattle by doin what I did is beyond me. So I'll post up a sound clip if it starts to make the sound again or if it starts to act funny.
