Default Help on deciding rim and tire size

Hello!

I have a 69 Camaro that I'm restoring and upgrading. Right now it has the regular 15" rim with 235/15 tires.

I want someones help on giving me some light if it's possible to install the following combination on the car using American Racing chrome Rims and BF Goodrich Tires:

Rear
Rim Size: 17x9
Part Number : AR605M7961C
Offset : +45
BackSide : 6.77 *
Hub Size : 73.2
Tire: 275/40ZR17 (Rim Width Range 9” - 11”)

Front
Rim Size : 17x8
Part Number : AR605M7861C
Offset : 0
BackSide : 4.5 *
Hub Size : 73.2
Tire: 235/40ZR17 (Rim Width Range 8” - 9.5”)

Do you believe this combination will fit okay on the car or will I need to do some modification to the suspension???

Thank you!

They look great although right now if you turn the steering wheel all the way to the left or right, the tire will graze a bit the inner fender. I believe that problem can be solved if an spacer is installed on the rim.

Most of the guys I know with 69s run 225 on 15 x 7 in the front and 235 on 15 x 8 in the back and have no rubbing problems. I have 235s all the way around and the front rub just like yours. I will probably go to the 225s with 15 x 7 in the front. I was on a forum about two weeks ago and there was a lot of talk about tire size for a 69. I will see if I can find it and get back with the web site for you.

Thank you!

I think the safest way will be to go 225 in the front and 235 on the back. I'll check the web site, thanks for the link.
