fricken rust!!
Took my t-tops off the other day and I noticed rust right along the edge of the front window. Anyone know the easiest way to take the front window off and do a self repair? That's going to cost a grip if I take it into a shop. Thanks in advance for your help.

No I don't but I'll try to get them on the site later today. I know it's going to be a pain to try to do a home repair job though. I just don't have the cash right now to have someone do it and I don't want to let it get worse.

are you talking about your windshield? If so, having a professional do it would be a good idea due to the fact that most of the cars in the last 20 years or so the windshield is a structural part of your car. But a real easy way to remove a windshield is by taking a guitar string, feeding it through the gasket around the frame and pulling it along cutting all of the sealant that is holding it in. You may want to have it reinstalled by someone.

Usualy the import cars state the windshield is part of the structural integrity. It wont be on a t-top car for sure.
But taking them out is risky if you don't know how. You chip an edge and the windshield will crack. They are not tempered like side and rear glass is. Not sure though as some have the molding as part of the glass but you may be able to remove just the molding and work around it. But I do think that the fourth gens molding is a part of the windshield.
