Default face gauge installation

Hey guys, so my problem is this: I installed a new face gauge, peeled the stock gauge off cluster, removed needles... placed new white face gauge, reinstalled needles... but my issue is, when i plug the cluster in, the needles aren't properly arranged. It jumps to 55MPH and my gas is below Empty... they'r all messed up.

Apparently i was supposed to sketch where the needles were on the stock gauge before removing them. But i skipped that step i guess. Is there anything i can do ? (I already tried shutting car off and on)

p.s. when i put the needles back in, i put them back in when the cluster WASN'T installed in the car. I did it in the house. Do i need to isntall them one by one WHILE the car is idle? I don't know. Any response will be appreciated. Thanks again guys.

I can't help you with your problem. But I do have some advice to anyone else thinking about changing gages faces. If the instruction tell you to remove the needles and stock faces, DON'T DO IT. You will have problems 80% of the time like the above Poster. I went with silver overlays and did not have to remove the needles or anything else.

Well you should have checked were the needles pointed when you tok them of!!
But you can fix it...
The speed and the rev should be at 0 when you turn the ignition on
The temp should be at 0 to when the engine is cold
Fill the tank with gas and just but the needle at full
The amp shuld be at 13 - 14V when the car is running
and a think the pressure guage should be at 0 to when you turn the ignition on.

a LOT of the times, if you don't remove the stock-face, the needles will not move properly. As the gap between them varies. Also, not removing the face will result in poor/low light visibility on the new face (although much of the aftermarket gauge's are made to be more translucent) . I'd suggest removing them. Just as long as you do what i DIDN'T do and make a sketch....
